Terms & conditions
Clear expectations for accounts, membership, and events.
About these terms
These terms apply to Code Commit’s website and club applications, dated 6 October 2026. Code Commit is a student-run club at BIET Davangere, not a commercial certification service. Use the Contact page for questions. Statutory rights are not excluded by these terms.
Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate information, protect your sign-in details, and do not impersonate another person. Online application and event forms are intended for adults aged 18 or older; younger participants must arrange an appropriate guardian-assisted process with organisers. An account does not automatically grant membership or organiser access.
Membership review
Applicants need an active GitHub profile with real commits, a complete LinkedIn profile, and working knowledge of AI tools and concepts. Organisers review applications and record reasons for decisions. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, employment, sponsorship or certification. You may update a non-approved application or raise a review concern through Contact.
Events and payment
Event details, fees, availability and approval requirements are shown before registration. A pending registration is not a confirmed seat. Payment takes place outside this website; a screenshot is evidence for manual verification, not a payment guarantee. Do not pay unless the organiser has supplied confirmed payment instructions. Refunds and cancellations follow the published event-specific terms and applicable law.
Acceptable use and intellectual property
Do not upload unlawful, deceptive, abusive or malicious material. Respect other participants, campus rules, intellectual property and event codes of conduct. You retain rights to your submitted projects; the club may review them for your application but publication or promotional use requires separate permission. Do not submit another person’s private information without authority.
Organiser responsibilities
Dashboard users must use information only for their assigned club duties, keep it confidential, avoid unnecessary exports, and never share passwords. Access may be revoked by the owner. Decisions require a reason and are recorded in history. Sponsors and partners must not be represented as official affiliations without confirmation.
Availability, changes and disputes
The website may be interrupted for maintenance or events may change; organisers should communicate material changes. No term excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Raise disputes with the club through Contact first. Applicable Indian law governs these terms, subject to mandatory consumer and data-protection rights.
